OPPORTUNITY Dr. Robert and Lynn Gallagher, with the Chestnut Hill Historical Society, would like to invite you to a special, limited tour of Louis I. Kahn’s world-renowned “Esherick House” on Wednesday, May 14, from 6pm – 7pm. This is a unique opportunity to view the Esherick House—which is otherwise inaccessible to the public—before it goes up for national auction on May 18. The tour will be led by architectural historian and long-time Chestnut Hill resident Dr. Emily Cooperman. The Esherick House is one of internationally acclaimed Louis I. Kahn’s very few residential projects. Tickets are available by calling the Chestnut Hill Historical Society at 215-247-0417, and may be purchased for $100 by check or credit card. Please make your reservation by 5pm on Tuesday, May 13. Space is limited to 25 individuals. The Chestnut Hill Historical Society would like to thank the Gallaghers, who have owned the Esherick House since 1981, for conceiving of this special event to view an international monument as well as support the Historical Society. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Historical Society. The event is limited to a tour only. Because of showing requirements, shoes will need to be removed and no refreshments will be served in the house.
